The site is right on the Atlantic coast, beautiful, rugged and sometimes very dangerous. The Spanish Armada foundered of the Sligo and Mayo coasts in 1588 and there are Galleons just under the sands, off Streedagh, North Sligo.

The area is famed for Music and poetry. The Poet W.B.Yeats lived in Sligo and is buried in nearby Drumcliffe.

There are many unspoilt empty sandy beaches and there is World class Surfing.

For Anglers, there is good fishing, including Sharks.





The area is ringed by Mountains, including Ben Bulben, Europe's only table top mountain.

It is a mecca for bikers, winding empty roads with superb views around every bend.
