SOME USEFUL INFO TO HELP YOU ON YOUR TRAVELS

As Petrol is significantly cheaper in Republic of Ireland than UK we recommend that you have little petrol in the tank, as follows-;

FISHGUARD-ROSSLARE, just enough for about 15 miles. Do not fill near the port as it's more expensive. I will post information on the cheapest filling station later.

HOLYHEAD-DUN LAOGHAIRE, just enough for about five miles. The cheapest fuel is in Sallynoggin, 1.5 miles from the Ferry, directions are with the route planner.

STRANRAER-BELFAST, fill tank in Stranraer as you will be in the middle of the city and joining the M1 motorway without seeing a petrol station. When you cross the border into Donegal get petrol, directions are with the route planner.

You will find many places to stop for snacks etc.

ROSSLARE-SLIGO-RALLY SITE, approx. 150.00 miles

• After Ferry take the direction Dublin, Wexford, N25/N11.
• Travel to Enniscorthy, get petrol (details later).
• After Enniscorthy, approx. three miles, take N80, Carlow, Port-Laoise, Tullamore, Moate.
• At Moate, turn left onto N6, to Athlone. This is a good spot to stop for coffee, food and petrol, you will arrive at a large roundabout with service area. After pit stop, rejoin N6 dual carriageway.
• After approx. four miles leave dual carriageway and take N61 Roscommon, Boyle.
• Travel through Boyle and take direction Sligo, N4.
• As you approach Sligo you will join a dual carriageway at a roundabout, followed quickly by another roundabout. You will encounter the first Rally direction signs here.
• After approx. 2.5 miles, leave dual carriageway, more Rally directions. Take direction Ballisodare/Ballina, (small village) and then right turn, N59 direction Ballina. Not far now, travel to Skreen, you will see a Church on left. Watch out for sign directing you to take a right turn.
• There will be plenty of signs from here to get you to the site.

DUN LAOGHAIRE-SLIGO-RALLY SITE- approx 165 miles.

• After ferry take direction M50. After 1.5 miles you will reach Sallynoggin.
• At second roundabout from Ferry, take last exit, travel approx 500 yards, you will see a small Filling Station on right (cheapest).
• Retrace your steps to roundabout, take last exit and proceed to M50, taking direction M50 NORTH.
• Leave M50 at junction 7 onto N4/M4 The West/Galway/Sligo. Stay on N4 to Sligo.
• This is a toll road, but take it as it saves you a lot of time, cost €1.40 for bike €2.70 for car.
• You can't go wrong from here as it is dual carriageway, motorway, dual-carriageway for approximately sixty miles, then straight to Sligo.
• As you approach Sligo you will join a dual carriageway at a roundabout, followed by another roundabout. You will encounter the first Rally direction signs here.
• After approx.. 2.5 miles, leave dual carriageway, more Rally directions.
• Take direction Ballisodare/Ballina, (small village) and then right onto N59, direction Ballina.
• Not far now, travel to Skreen, you will see a Church on left. Watch out for sign directing you to take a right turn.
• There will be plenty of signs from here to get you to the site

BELFAST-SLIGO-RALLY SITE, APPROX, APPROX. 145 MILES.

• Leave Ferry Port and take direction The West/Dublin/M1.
• Take M1 and stay on it to it's end at Dungannon, it then becomes A4.
• Stay on A4 to Enniskillen and then follow signs for Donegal, taking A46 Donegal/Ballyshannon.
• Outside Ballyshannon you will come to a roundabout, take first exit onto link road, down to stop sign. You must go left, onto N15.
• You are now on a single carriageway bypass of approx. 10 miles, ending at a roundabout.
• Take first exit at roundabout, direction Sligo, N15. After two miles you will come to a filling Station (cheapest). You will have travelled approx. 105 miles by now.
• After petrol continue on to Sligo. As you approach Sligo you will come to several sets of Traffic Lights, keep in left lane through first four sets.
• After fourth set road is divided carriageway, continue straight ahead.
• You will come to a roundabout, take second exit, you are now on N4 dual carriageway. Take third exit, direction Ballina. You will encounter first Rally direction signs here.
• At stop sign go right, through Ballisodare and take right turn, N59 direction Ballina.
• Not far now, travel to Skreen, you will see a Church on left hand side. Watch out for a Rally sign directing you to turn left.
• There will be plenty of signs from here to the site.
